Abortion Safety Checklist
If you are considering abortion, take the time to go through our abortion safety checklist to ensure you are healthy and prepared:
1. Confirm Your Pregnancy
Did you know that a pregnancy test alone does not medically confirm your pregnancy? Medical confirmation can be provided through an ultrasound. An ultrasound shows how far along you are, can diagnose if you have a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy and determines the abortion procedures you qualify for.
2. Get Tested and Treated for STI/STDs
If you have an abortion with an untreated STI/STD, you are at increased risk for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) which can result in future infertility or chronic pain.
3. Understand the Risks
As with any medical procedure, there are several risks associated with abortion. Whether you are considering a medical or surgical abortion, you need to be prepared by understanding the short and long-term risks. We encourage you to come in and speak with our medical staff to learn more about these risks.
4. Consider the Alternatives
To make a truly informed decision, it is important to consider all your options: abortion, adoption, and parenting. This decision can only be made by you and you alone. Taking the time to consider each option gives you the confidence you need to make the best decision for you.
5. Pause and Ask
