Non-Judgmental Confidential Care
Hand 'n Hand is a safe place to share how you are feeling during this decision making process. We are here to offer our free support and services, without judgment or pressure. We will provide caring, compassionate counsel. You don't have to face this alone. We have answers.
Hand 'n Hand will administer a lab quality test that is 99% accurate as early as 7-10 days after conception. The result of your test will be given to you at your pregnancy test appointment. We will also provide you with a pregnancy verification form to take with you to apply for insurance or Medicaid benefits. A positive urine pregnancy test implies a pregnancy, but should always be confirmed with an ultrasound to be sure that you have a viable intrauterine pregnancy.
Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound Service
Upon receiving a positive pregnancy test result at Hand 'n Hand, a medical staff member will offer you a free ultrasound to confirm that you have a viable, intrauterine pregnancy. An ultrasound will indicate the presence of a fetal heartbeat in the uterus. It will also determine, by fetal measurements, how far along you are and your expected due date. Statistics show that 15-20% of all pregnancies end naturally in miscarriage because some pregnancies are not viable. If you are pregnant, a urine pregnancy test alone will not tell if you fall in that category. Our ultrasound technician will confirm a viable pregnancy and then you will know for sure if you are pregnant.
An ultrasound verification is important for you to make a confident decision about your pregnancy. Our ultrasound is not designed to determine the gender of the baby or diagnose a medical condition. However, we will be happy to provide referrals for local physicians.
Just breathe and try not to panic. You can't change what has happened, but you can consider your next step. We are here to help.
Once your free pregnancy test and ultrasound are complete, our Medical Professional will provide you with information about all of your options and talk over any concerns you may have.
